The money and soul option
By admin
Written by Michael Vass
Let’s say you want to make a lot of money. So you want to go to college, study, learn a profession and then start your career. But which one? What will earn you a decent living, and still be rewarding?
One answer, at least in Britain, is becoming a veterinarian. Now I’m sure that’s not topping the list of what most people would think. Most would say lawyer, or doctor, maybe real estate mogul or stockbroker. And all of those are good choices. Especially when you consider that many veterinarians are working up to 100 hours a week sometimes.
But like all professions long hours are not uncommon. And the reward of years of training and expertise is only sometimes rewarded with a profit. But veterinarians are the best at making a profit. According to recent research up to 37% profit. No other profession touches this level.
Now pure monetary motivation is never enough to be a success in any career. You have to love what you do. You have to care about what you do. And veterinarians are surely a breed that care about the animals pet owners bring to them. Today veterinarians provide extensive surgeries, chemotherapy, even alternative medicines in the care of our beloved non-human family members.
So in balancing a career, the potential to earn a better-than-average living, and rewards that money cannot provide there is an option you may not have considered. While this is based on information in England, America tends to be very similar. So if you are looking for a profession with a soul and able to spread cheer, here is just one more option.

Protect Your Dogs from Ticks
By admin
Watch out for these symptoms if your dog has been bitten by a tick:
- Fever
- Lameness
- Loss of Appetite
- Cough
- Onset of Pain
- Arthritis
- Lethargic Mannerisms
I have a Prince Charles and have found about 5 ticks on my dog this spring alone. Spring and fall is tick season. Most importantly, try to keep the grass in your yard short and keep your flowerbeds weed free.
Here’s more information on how ticks can affect your dogs.
